Chazen Museum

Madison, Wisconsin

Peter Rose + Partners was pleased to be invited to a shortlisted competition held by the University of Wisconsin for the design of a new building as part of the Chazen Museum of Art. With over 18,000 works of art, the Chazen Museum - with its ever-increasing collection, an expanding role on campus, and a critical shortage of space in both the museum and art library - invited Peter Rose + Partners to submit a project proposal, including design, for a new 62,000 sf building. The primary purpose of this building was to provide space for the display and storage of works of art, conservation and exhibition preparation rooms, a specialized object study classroom, and a museum shop.
