House on Georgian Bay

The project is a 3 bedroom house on a rocky island on Lake Huron's Georgian Bay, north of Toronto. Given the site's limited access, and its frequent exposure to extreme weather, the structure was designed with ease of construction and durability in mind. The house was carefully and critically sited: to take advantage of views and the movement of the sun; to provide protection from the prevailing storm winds; and to sit in the rocky landscape in a physically and visually stable fashion.
